Slack, the app that lets you chat with coworkers, is worth $1.12 billion by raising $120 million in capital. This was co-led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Google Ventures, as well as Slack’s previous investors.
The company says it already has 73,000 paid users and is currently adding $1 million in annual run rate every four weeks. Slack might sound like an overnight sensation, but CEO Stewart Butterfield instigated the idea out of a company he launched more than four years ago.
